Old guitars tuned to unremembered notes. A drummer up to his eyeballs in old beat, and soul records; and a bassist from the "less and loud is more"-school.
Having first made her name as a renowned solo performer, based in London, then Madrid, EMMA McGLYNN wanted to turn up the volume and expand her sound with a band any woman could feel proud of. With The Monorails on board they set about recording their new album "THE MURDER SET" in a disused Bassett’s liquorish allsorts factory in London.
Influenced by artists such as PJ Harvey, Ani Difranco and Nick Cave they have been playing throughout Europe for the best part of two years, collecting fans along the way, whilst at the same time running their own record label in London, releasing their own music as well as their new signing, psychedelic country rock band The High Wire.
Initially coming over to Vienna on a promise of a sofa to sleep on and a show with friend met over the internet, the band toured with Clara Luzia (Asinella/Buntspecht) before she was Clara Luzia, and have been coming over ever since. A number of live sessions on FM4 cemented the band with their Austrian fans and finally they found a label they were happy to let represent them in their adopted land, with Buntspecht.
